Movin' Right Along: The Muppet Movie
Movin' right along in search of good times and good news,
with good friends you can't lose,
This could become a habit!
Opportunity knocks once let's reach out and grab it!
Together we'll nab it,
We'll hitchike, bus, or yellow cab it! (Cab it?)
Movin' right along,
Footloose and Fancy-free
Getting there is half the fun; come share it with me
Movin' right along (dug-adug-dug-a dug)
We'll learn to share the load.
We don't need a map to keep this show on the road.
Well blog readers, if you know me, what I am about to share will come as no surprise. If you don't, this is good for you to know because I am sure that it will be a running gag. :) I'm terrible with directions. Awful. Can't read maps (once I was giving directions to my cousin Cindy off a map- turns out I was following a river not a road). I am GPS dependent. I am perfectly content to know where I would like to end up and set off trusting the disembodied voice to figure it out while I enjoy driving, and singing, and seeing what's on the way. This probably says something profound about me but I don't know what- you figure it out. :)
And now I take off on a cross country road trip with my friends. Immediately upon the heels of this idea even in it's very first baby stages came a rule. "If Kristi is driving, someone else has to be awake." There is a real (and OK, valid) concern that left on my own we may end up in Mexico, or if you know the song quoted above, "Send someone to fetch us, we're in Sasketchewan!" Or really, "Hey, I've never seen the sun come up in the west"
My friends thankfully, do not have my tendency to get royally and completely lost. In fact, Katrina is pretty much the opposite of all this- she has a tremendous sense of roads and such and, where I was completely content to take our list of cities and GPS and get on our way- she has had a lengthy consult with AAA and has 2 large volumes of maps and such for this trip. The new rv bible! :)
My excitement, my prayer, and my hope is that this trip will be a beautiful balance of knowing where we are going and being surprised about new directions and focus on what we see on the way. And that we get back to Maryland eventually.
