Yes indeed everyone, Nicole is along on this trip. If it weren't for some photos posted, one might think that I'm not here. So, here are some words from Nicole as we travel down the dusty roads of the southwest.
How beautiful is this country! We're on day 4 and getting ready to push off again for our next destination. I'll do a quick recap since I haven't posted at all.
Early arrival in LA where Aunt Bab's picked up me and Katrina in her Mustang. Tight squeeze, but we made it in. She took us out for a wonderful evening - drinks with some of her friends and then dinner overlooking the Pacific. It was great. Went out for breakfast in the morning and then made a quick drive by down a highway so that I could see the HOLLYWOOD sign. Too cool! Picked up Kristi and then to the RV. Unfortunately, they weren't quite ready for us, so we grabbed some lunch and got back 2 hours later. Quite the wheels we've got! Made it out of LA and to Vegas where we stayed at quite the RV camp. Seemed more like a resort. It was very late, but Kristi and I really wanted to see the lights of Vegas, so we grabbed a cab and headed to The Strip. Got back very late and up early again to go back. This time with Katrina. Had some lunch, spent $5 in the casino at the Mirage and I walked out with 35 cents. My friends did much better than I.
Made it to Williams, AR at another great camp (Katrina has done very well at making reservations - I'm a little nervous about mine?!?!) Yesterday we went to the Grand Canyon - WOW! It was overwhelmingly, take your breath away, amazing! I don't think words could describe it actually. Spent the afternoon there and then to Sedona, AR where we went to Slippery Rock Park and did just what the park titles indicates - slid down some slippery rocks. It was pretty cool and we have some great pictures - be sure to take a look at our lastest pics. Sedona is absolutly beautiful. I was the driver and lets just say that Rte 89A is quite possibly the most dangerous road to travel, in particular in an RV. BUT....we made it down and then back up. I felt as though I was in France (where as many of you know, is the only place I've really spent any time outside of the USA) Huge mountains and rocks and windy roads - an incredible view at every turn. My eyes were on the road though, but lots of pictures were taken.
That brings us up to right now. We've cleaned up our RV and ready to head to Santa Fe where we will spend the next 2 days.
It's been an exciting trip and it's so cool to know that people are following along here on the blog. I'm glad we're able to show pictures as well because I don't know that I will be able to express in words what our pictures capture. What a great time we're having, what amazing sights we're seeing and what incredible memories we're making!
One last thing to say.....I've got two amazing friends and I'm thrilled to be sharing this experience with them.
See you all soon!
Much love,
Nic
